tuanzThough strictly speaking not a real job, this was certainly the most profitable design brief I've ever undertaken. Way back at the beginning of '96, The Telecommunications Association of New Zealand held a web design competition called 'The Internet Cookoff'. One of the categories was to design a site for the organisers themselves. I entered with a friend, Brian Smith, and y'know what?We won $60,000 worth of SGI gear. So here is our elderly entry. At the time, Shockwave for Director was a new thing, so we put together a shocked version of the site. I suspect this could have clinched the prize, but looking at the site now, Brian's clean header designs are what really make the pages. On the Shocked version of the site, it is worth noting that the interactive headers are around the same filesize as the GIFs they replace...
