A Java-based site for MetService -- The Meteorological Service of New Zealand.

WeatherNOW! allows full access to New Zealand weather data and forecasts, delivered through a sophisticated Java applet. Users can navigate through animated satelite images, charts, forecasts, and realtime weather readings -- all through a single Java interface. The service is charged on a per-use basis, but includes a free demonstration mode.

Brian Smith and I designed this site for SFx Designers. We took a no-compromise approach to the interface design, eschewing standard Java AWT objects, and designing the interface elements from scratch. Yeah - dumb. Luckily, we had a similarly likeminded coder doing the Java, so we pulled it off.
